Website Redesign 2011

Upgraded the website to Joomla! CMS 1.7 and the Purity II template from JoomlaArt. Here are some of the big new features:
- Since short stories in anthologies and ebooks are my bread and butter, the current anthologies and ebooks are now featured front and center at top.
- All articles were updated to better organized to and more accessible from the menus and in the search results.
- Added a forum to discuss the articles. This is an EXPERIMENTAL feature. If it becomes a PITA to maintain, I'll remove it. I'm hoping to develop a community for my writings.
Still need to some tweaking around the edges. If you see any problems, send an email to webmaster at cdreimer.com to let me know.

After seeing so many different writers mention Goodreads in their Twitter posts for several years, I had finally found my way over there. You can check out my author profile, add the anthologies and ebooks that my short story appears in to your reading shelves, and give them steller reviews.
Unlike the unfreindly Facebook, I got plenty of writing friends from Twitter who are also on Goodreads.
I'm looking into offering my short story ebooks directly on Goodreads, which means learning how to format the source file to create the epub file for submission (i.e., Microsoft Word > HTML > ePub). Formatting has never been an issue for me since fiction doesn't require much and the conversion process at Amazon and Smashwords hides all the saugage-making details. I think most writers get stuck on the HTML part because they are not familiar with HTML. Unless Microsoft Word 2010 is spewing out bad HTML like it did ten years ago, it shouldn't be a problem for me. I been using HTML for 13 years.
One nice feature I'll be using at Goodreads is having book give away promotions. Next month I'm planning to give away three autographed copies of The Big Book of New Short Horror anthology from Pill Hill Press that has my short story, "The Lunch Box." If that promotion goes well, I may have another one. I got 11 short stories in five anthologies coming out by the end of the year.
